What Payment Gateways can I use to offer subscriptions in my Shopify store?

Shopify has some eligibility requirements that each store will need to meet before Shopify will allow you to offer subscriptions of any kind.

Shopify Eligibility Requirements:

  • Set up one of Shopify’s allowed payment gateways
  • Select a Shopify Plan for your store and configure your payment settings and information.

Please note: you may not be able to view or preview Awtomic Subscriptions on your products until you have met Shopify's Eligibility requirements.

Shopify's Allowed Payment Gateways:

In order to offer subscriptions in your Shopify store, Shopify requires merchants to use Shopify Payments, PayPal Express, Stripe, or Authorize.net as their payment gateway.

Customers can also use accelerated checkouts such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal to purchase subscriptions.

Shopify users cannot use local payment methods such as Klarna, mollie iDEAL, and Sofort to purchase subscriptions.

Awtomic Subscriptions is proud to currently support subscriptions for any eligible Shopify merchant currently using Shopify Payments, PayPal Express, Stripe or Authorize.net as their payment gateway.

Shopify Plan and Settings:

Navigate to your Shopify Admin and click to your Shopify Settings page, from there you can manage your Shopify subscription plan, payment setting and more.

Local delivery and Local pick up is NOT natively supported by Shopify as delivery options for subscriptions. Shopify plans to support local pick up and Local Delivery by the end of 2022.

Subscription products are only supported on the Online Store sales channel
