Awtomic’s Preferred Billing Time Setting allows merchants to set a specific time of day renewal billings will occur. For example, you may want all of the subscription renewal orders to be billed at 5pm in your store’s time zone. With Awtomic Preferred Billing, you can do that in just a few clicks. Here's how to set up your Preferred Billing Time for your Awtomic Subscription Renewals:
- Log in to the Awtomic App from your Shopify Admin.
- Click on "Settings."
- Go to "Logistics and Operations" and select "Edit Operational Settings."
4. Go to the Preferred Billing Time section to set and save your time in your store's timezone.
Will my Existing Subscriptions be updated immediately when I add or change my Preferred Billing time?
No, When you make changes to your Preferred Billing Time in Awtomic. Billing for existing subscribers is NOT automatically set to that new time. Preferred Billing Time changes will begin to take effect only after at least one additional update has been made to an existing subscription. Typically the first update on a subscription isn’t until the subscription gets billed after the Preferred Billing Time has been set or changed.
This is not an exhaustive list, but here are a few examples of subscription actions that can also count as a first update on an existing subscription after a change to the Preferred Billing time:
- An Admin can add and/or remove a note in the subscription detail for an existing subscription
- A customer or an admin could add and/or remove an item from the next order on an existing subscription
- A customer or an admin could increase or decrease the quantity of an item in an existing subscription
- A customer or an Admin can update the next billing date on an existing subscription.
- A customer or an admin can add or remove a discount on a subscription
Any of the above actions will force an update to the preferred billing time on an existing subscription.
Regardless of forced an update, any existing subscription that has been billed for at least one renewal after a preferred billing time is saved will be on the preferred billing time for all future renewal orders.
